Orientation program on community based rehabilitation

Prayatna Nepal in partnership with Lalitpur Metropolitan City  has conducted 1 day orientation on community based rehabilitation for concerned stake holders and person with disabilities from Lalitpur Metropolitan City, ward number 20 on 3rd July 2022. The main objective of the program was to sensitized person with disabilities and concerned stake holders on community based rehabilitation. That program has include following topic : Disability concept and definition, Disability classification based on functional impairment and severity, Community based rehabilitation concept and metrics government provision and available service for person with disabilities. The disability concept, defenation and classification  session was facilitate by Mr. Kiran Silpakar chair person of national  association  of physical disabled , government  provision and facilities session was  facilitated by  Ms.  Maheshwori Bishta Rawaal  head of  women department of Lalitpur metropolitans city and  community based rehabilitation session was facilitated by Ms.Neera Adhikari, undersecretary of  Nepal government. After the orientation program,  ward level group of person with disabilities Chayabahal  was formed under the leadership of  Ms.Bidya Laxmi Shakhya. Closing ceremony- the closing ceremony was hosted by Ms. Jimawati Lamkolia  executive board member of Prayatna Nepal. Ms. Sarita Lamichhane did chair on closing ceremony  Sobha Kharel the Chief Guest likewise Ms.  Adhikari undersecretary of Nepal government was special guest respectively. Ms. Neera Adhikari thanked  Prayatna Nepal and Lalitpur metropolitans city for organizing  this program including the most vulnerable but excluded group from ward number 21. She stressed in the importance of  CBR to   change the lifestyle of  person with disabilities. Ms.  Shobha Kharel Chief guest made commitment among the participants that   Lalitpur metropolitian city women development   section always ready to  empower  person with disability.  She urged the  person with disabilities   made concrete plan for the sustainable development of  person with disability of ward number 20 which can reduce  their economic dependency. At last,Ms Sarita Lamichhane chair person of Prayatna Nepal gives vote of thanks to all participants.    

 

Output:

27 concerned stake holders were sensitized on  community based rehabilitation and government provision for person with disabilities.
