Signature Technique Training for visually impaired women

With the aim of reduce the finger print Prayatna Nepal organized 2 days signature
technique training for 10 blind women from Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur district
on April 24- 25 2021 respectively. The objective of that training was to sensitized blind
women on the structure of sighted alphabet and developed own designated signature
instead of finger print. During training period, organizer got to know all participants
have bank account but none of them used sign they have used finger print for banking
transection. Because of which, they are facing problem to utilized all services provided
by banking sector. Among 10 participants, Sangita Ghale, Sangita Ghimire and Anisa
Ghimire made significant progress on signature. At the results of that training,
participants were able to write all English alphabet and able to developed own
designated signature.

Stakeholder Consultation on Digital Rights and Accessibility

Prayatna Nepal, a self-help organization dedicated to empowering visually impaired women and girls, recently conducted a consultation on digital accessibility on national and international laws, policy, frameworks, universal design and accessibility standards to content developers, IT professionals, government representatives, private sector stakeholders, and representatives from Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).
